GENERAL RULES AND INFORMATION

It’s not too late and we still have plenty of openings, so if anyone is interested in attending this hunt, please contact us by email at peyton@gsbsdaytonahunt.com or phone (386) 255-4659. The deadline for making your reservations at The Plaza Resort & Spa, at our discounted group rate, has been extended to April 20, 2008 (click on the hotel info link for all the details). Please check the website for any news, changes, updates, etc. before coming to the hunt. Also, be sure to check the website after the hunt because we will be posting pictures of this years hunt (give us a few weeks to recoup first). Registration will be on Friday, April 25, 2008, from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM. There will be a brief orientation at 5:00 PM on Friday, followed by the KELLYCO hunt at 5:30 PM. If you can’t get here on Friday, we will have a late registration Saturday morning, April 26, 2008, from 8:00 AM until 9:00 AM. ALL HUNT ENTRANTS ARE TO BE IN THE BALLROOM BY 9:00 AM ON Saturday! We are going with a patriotic (red, white & blue) theme again this year, so if you have any clothes or accessories that fit into this category, please wear them – it will look great in the pictures! When you register, you will be given a “welcome bag” with more information, and lots of GOODIES. You will also be issued a 6th ANNUAL GREAT SOUTHERN BEACH SHOOTOUT badge which MUST be worn while on the hunt field. NO BADGE, NO HUNT, NO EXCEPTIONS! If you lose your badge, it will cost you $200.00 to get another one. The hunts will be held rain or shine. Each hunt will last one hour, or until everyone leaves the hunt field – whichever comes first. The hunt schedule is as follows: |
(If you have kids that will be in the kids hunt, but you did not list them on your registration form, please call or email me & let me know. We want to make sure that we have enough prizes for every kid to get something.)

| There will be a horn sounding 10 minutes before each hunt is to start. If you are not on the hunt field when the hunt starts, we will not wait for you. At the start of each hunt, a shot will be fired. |

THE FOLLOWING ARE THE BASIC HUNT RULES FOR EVERY ENTRANT: You must wear your 6th Annual Great Southern Beach Shootout badge. Maximum beach scoop handle length is 38 inches. You must dig your own targets – no helpers. Maximum coil size allowed is 12 ˝ inches. You must use headphones. No shovels allowed. You must cover your holes. No alcohol is allowed (by law) on the beach. You must abide by the directions of the Hunt Staff. Please be courteous to other entrants & hunt staff. No Pulse Induction Machines allowed (because of interference). You must wear your 6th Annual Great Southern Beach Shootout badge. All targets will be buried no deeper than 2-4 inches in the sand. Do not dig big and/or deep holes. No entrant is allowed on the planting field before the start of any hunt. If you must cross over the field, there will be a designated cross area and you must raise your detector in the air while you cross. No one will be allowed on the hunt field between the 1st & 2nd hunts and between the 3rd & 4th hunts. Kellyco will be awarding their hunt prizes, in the hotel ballroom, after their hunt on Friday afternoon. We will be giving out some prizes on Saturday, after the 2nd hunt, and Dixie will be awarding their hunt prizes, in the ballroom, after their hunt. The “Top 50 Prizes” will be awarded immediately after the last hunt on Sunday, April 27, 2008. All prizes will be given out in the hotel ballroom.
